Ce matin, j'ai eu le plaisir de rencontrer madame Lilli.  40 ans sur la rue Cazelais.  Elle ne veut pas être expropriée.

On s'est rendu au bureau de Ministre des transports Julie Boulet, au 500 Sherbrooke ouest.  Elle n'est pas descendue pour nous voir, mais il y avait un monsieur du MTQ qui prenait des photos des manifestants.  Pour mettre sur leur blog?

Comme Julie Boulet n'était pas présente, on a dû procéder à l'expropriation d'une simili Julie Boulet (c'était, en fait, notre voisine Natalie):

Les organisateurs ont promis que la prochaine fois, on ferait cela dans son vrai bureau!

Le MTQ a fini par envoyer une représentante, Mme Anne Pelletier (manteau noir, un peu mal-à-l'aise, en bas), qui a dit que le MTQ "travaille avec acharnement pour essayer de limiter les expropriations."  Ce à quoi les manifestants, pas convaincus, ont répliqué "Zéro expropriations!"

Look at this tableau by Philip Henry Surrey (intitled St-Antoine).  You'll recognize St-Jacques (perhaps that portion of St-Jacques was called St-Antoine when this was painted, 1970) just after Turcot.  The perspective is from right under what was then the brand-new interchange.  Look at the people, buffeted by the winds from the speeding overhead traffic.  We don't see the Turcot, we only see its' effects.  The smashed-up car, the grimacing faces...

Those people, they're us.  Walking together against the wind and the tide.

As uncertainty continues to cause psychological damage in the neighbourhood, the Liberal gouvernment refuses still to respond to our calls to cancel the expropriations.  Keeping our neighbours in doubt like this clearly constitutes a "grave tension" of the sort considered by the Supreme Court to be a violation of charter rights (article 7).

Tommorow, we go before Transport minister Julie Boulet's office, to demand, once again, that the MTQ put an end to this prolongated uncertaintly, and that these expropriations be cancelled.
